What is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)?

A CSA is a partnership between a farm and its customers. If you choose to join, you will receive a share of the harvest, consisting of fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers grown on the farm without chemicals. By becoming a member you will gain an intimate connection to the land, knowing where your food comes from and exactly how it is grown. The farmers benefit by having income at the beginning of the season, when most of the farm costs occur. By having CSA members join early, the farmers can focus on growing delicious vegetables. CSA members share the bounty and risks associated with farming while supporting a farm dedicated to providing high quality produce for its members.

What are the benefits of joining?

  1. Good value for your money. Get at least 15% more produce than you paid for based on our retail prices. During the summer, when we have an abundance and the pick-your-own garden is open, your share will often be worth a lot more than you paid, but during the spring and fall your share may be closer in value to what you paid. This is also why if you sign up for the short season share (just 10 weeks in the summer), it will cost a little more per week.
  2. Ultra-fresh produce, we harvest and wash your veggies the day you pick up.
  3. Knowing where your food comes from. We grow all of the veggies, so you know exactly where your food is coming from. You can connect with your local farmer and see how your food is grown.
  4. Peace of mind. All of our produce is free of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and GMOs.
  5. Enjoy our Pick-your-own garden. While you are picking up your vegetables you can visit the PYO garden (including flowers, herbs, and cherry tomatoes) and also see the various farm residents (guinea fowl, geese, horses and sheep).
  6. Try new vegetables. While we grow a lot of standard vegetables, we also grow some interesting veggies and different varieties that are unique and often hard to find in the store.
  7. CSA members are our priority!
